The project originated from a unique and very particular interview with the owner: "I would like the house to have music, emotion, wood, air, fire, water, light, path, and exploration. And I also want it to be an icon that represents something innovative." Based on sustainability premises, the design and construction of Casa 01 were developed, from its conception, by a group of professionals from different fields, aiming to prove that it is possible to build in a rational manner, minimizing environmental impacts, and transforming a dwelling into an example of changing habits in construction and residential use. These considerations led Casa 01 to receive the top award in the 4th edition of the Saint-Gobain Architecture Award - Sustainable Habitat, in the Sustainability Highlight and Professional Residential categories. It also secured second place in the international RTF Sustainability Awards 2017, in the Residence Building category, and was selected for the international Building of the Year'18 Awards by ArchDaily. Additionally, it is the only Brazilian project included in the book Green Architecture Today 2018.
